Dr. Jacinta Meharchand,
MB, Ch.B.,F.R.C.P.(C)
Dr. Meharchand is a medical oncologist and haematologist at Toronto East General Hospital. She is the director of the Division of Haematology/Oncology and medical director of the cancer clinic. She is Chair of COMET (Community Oncologists of Metropolitan Toronto) and Vice Chair of the Ontario Medical Oncology Association. She is a member of the Toronto
Regional Cancer Planning Task Force. She is actively involved in clinical research and is a member of the National Cancer Institute of Canada Clinical Trials Group. Dr. Meharchand is the physician lead for the LUNG CANCER: TIME TO TREAT initiative which was awarded an innovation fund grant by Cancer Care Ontario/Ministry of Health in December 2004. |

Ian Quirt
Ian Quirt is a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto and is a Hematologist and Medical Oncologist in the Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology at the Princess Margaret Hospital, University Health Network.
He has coordinated clinical trials in the treatment of malignant melanoma for the National Cancer Institute of Canada Clinical Trials Group and Canada-wide multicenter studies of erythropoietin in oncology patients. |
